Chaplain Jones

Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel) Scott F. Jones was born in Orlando, Florida.

Chaplain Jones holds degrees from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Duke University Divinity School, Durham, North Carolina.

He is a Minister of the United Methodist Church. His pastoral appointments included Pastor, the Warren Charge of the North Carolina Annual Conference, Henderson, North Carolina; and Associate Pastor, Sanlando United Methodist Church of the Florida Annual Conference, Longwood, Florida.

Military assignments have included the 505th Engineer Battalion, North Carolina Army National Guard; 2-265th ADA (Hawk), Florida Army National Guard; 704th Main Support Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, and 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado; Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C.; 67th Combat Support Hospital, Wuerzburg, Germany; 41st Engineer Battalion and 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York; Resident Student, Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; U.S. Army Medical Command, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Brigade Chaplain, 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Osan Air Base, Korea. He served in the United Nations Mission in Haiti Force Headquarters, the Kosovo Campaign, and during Operation Enduring Freedom. Chaplain Jones currently serves as the Career Management Officer, Office of the Chief of Chaplains.

Chaplain Jones' military education includes the Chaplain Officer Basic Course, the Chaplain Captain Career Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Chaplains Clinical Pastoral Education Advanced Program, the Command and General Staff Officer Course, and Chaplaincy Resource Manager's Course.

Chaplain Jones is married to Mrs. Melinda A. Jones of Titusville, Pennsylvania. They have two daughters: Kathryn and Suzanne.
